Alexandru Murar
Originally from Romania, Muri taught himself to throw pottery by watching YouTube and practicing on a homemade pottery wheel. In the beginning, he made flower pots and bonsai bowls. After moving to Denmark and studying at the School of Glass and Ceramics on Bornholm, Muri's ceramic horizon expanded. Now he throws a wide range of utilitarian objects, unique pots, design pieces, and sound instruments. Influenced by both Eastern and European pottery traditions, as well as the Nordic design language, Muri's ceramic expression is organically expanding on multiple fronts. In recent years, he has been working with ash glazes and atmospheric firings.
The pots are thrown in two or more sections and fired in reduction. Muri experiments with different types of clay, ash glazes, and double glazing
